Building Self-confidence through self-defense training!
BRIEF HISTORY ABOUT OUR SCHOOL OF KEMPO Chinese Kempo “Way or Law of the fist” was originally introduced to Hawaii in the early 1940’s by Professor James Mitose, and then later by Professor William K. S. Chow. Then one of Professor Chow students Professor Adriano Emperado along with four other Professors Joe Holck, Peter Young, Frank Ordonez and Clarence Chang made the new street art of Kajukenbo, the original Mix Martial Arts. The training is street defense orientated with focus on multiple techniques to the joints and vital areas of the attacker.
The Vierra’s International Kempo Schools of Self-Defense has enhanced the art of Kempo and their instructors are thoroughly qualified in teaching Muay Thai Kickboxing, Boxing, Jujitsu, Aikido, Judo and empty hand techniques which further enhance the Kempo Self-defense system. Along with these unarmed techniques we teach the use and defense against various weapons such as the knife, club, Chinese bo, Nunchaku’s , Kama’s, Short Sticks and Six-inch Sticks.
Our ultimate goal at the Vierra’s International Kempo Schools of Self-Defense is to be prepared to defend ones property, one’s self or one’s family in the time of need. And this can only be accomplished by preparing one’s Mind, Body and Spirit.
Mr. Vierra started his training in 1969 with the Godin's School's of Self-Defense, under Grand Master Walter L.N. Godin who learned from Great Grand Master Emperado. Mr. Vierra was taught by Grand Master Martin T. Buell at the Pacific Palisades Branch in Pearl City, Hawaii.
Mr. Vierra started his own system in 1985 on Oahu, Hawaii where he was born and raised. The Vierra's moved to Arizona in 1996 to start a new branch of his system.
Mr. Vierra holds the rank of Grand Master 10th degree and was inducted to the Kajukenbo Hall of Fame in 2013. Mrs. Vierra hold the rank of Professor 8th degree.
